Renal "Men’s Shed" Questionnaire

Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge.

Sheds are whatever the members want them to be. Although labelled sheds, they often aren’t sheds at all. They can be empty offices, portable cabins, warehouses, garages, and in at least one case, a disused mortuary. Many Sheds get involved in community projects too – restoring village features, helping maintain parks and green spaces, and building things for schools, libraries and individuals in need.

Sheds typically attract older men, but many have younger members and women too. Whatever the activity, the essence of a Shed is not a building, but the connections and relationships between its members.

The Kent Kidney Patients Association (KKPA) and East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) would like your view on creating a community space for men living with kidney disease where they can meet in a safe environment to talk about issues that concern them, share personal interests and contribute to their local community.  Please spend a few minutes of your time to complete the following questions. Your responses are invaluable.

Thank you for completing the questionnaire below, this will help us establish if there is an interest within our male renal patient community for a Men's Shed community group.
